Quick and the dead rankings (2040 Week 4)

We are 4 weeks into the season and the 3× defending Champs Hammers entered ranked #1 with the #2 Oak Island Treasure coming to town with a chance to knock them off their pedestal. The Hammers showed they are still the quickest gun in the league as they won 21-7.

The week featured 4 more significant games where top ranked teams (#4, #7, #8, #10) took on teams looking to make a name for themselves (#6, #11, #12, #14) and in all 4 matchups the higher ranked team held serve.

Not all the top ranked teams faired as well as the 22nd rank Cheesesteaks knocked off the #3 Crusaders in a close duel. The Cheesesteaks moved up to 11th passing the Crusaders who fell to 13th.

The rankings have settled in with only 4 teams switching tiers but the Great Falls Quicksilver take the #1 seed behind a win over the #3 Deadwood Dust Devils. The Hammers have held the #1 ranking since preseason and this may only be a 1 week slip based on schedule.

Week 8 became Upset weekend as we had 9 teams beat teams ranked higher then them. Records were set as the first 4 ranked teams all lost and all 3 tiers went .500 for the week. We also have no undefeated teams remaining as the 4 left entering week 8...lost!!!!

The 3× defending Champion Hammers lost their 2nd game in a row and you have to go back 6 seasons to 2034 (week 6&7) to find the last time the Charleston Hammers lost 2 games in a row.
