Quick and the dead rankings (2037 Week 13)

Just 3 games remaining in the season and the rankings have begun to stabilize with only 4 teams switching tiers. The game of the week featured the #5 Birmingham Thunderbolts beating the #6 Deadwood Dust Devils 20-7 with both teams remaining Quick.

We had 2 significant upsets this week with the #21 Tuscon Outlaws shutting out the #9 Texas Butcherz 21-0 which knocked the Butcherz out of the Quick and down to 12th while the Outlaws jumped up to 11th. The other upset saw the #30 New Orleans Voodoo edging out the #19 Omaha Storm 24-17 which dropped the Storm into the realm of the Dead at #26 to join the Voodoo who remained Dead at 25th.

The Quick went 8-2 this week which includes a lose in a head to head matchup. 5 of the 10 Quick teams have already clinched playoff spots including the Timbers and Hammers securing a first round bye.

The And went a pedestrian 5-7 this week with 4 loses coming to Quick teams as the separation between teams ranked 1-9 and 10-19 grows to over 30 ranking points. 2 of the 12 And teams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs.

The Dead went 4-6 this week but 3 of the wins were Dead teams beating on fellow Dead teams. Every team currently ranked Dead has been officially eliminated from the playoffs.

Quick and the dead rankings (2037 Week 14)

The top four teams remain the same this week and the top seven teams have already clinched a playoff spot including the #1 undefeated Charleston Hammers who locked up the top seed in the National Conference.

This week featured three games between high ranked teams plus one upset which factored into most of the four tier changes.

The game of the week was the #6 Blue Rock Heisenbergs knocking off the #7 Kansas City Monarchs 25-13 which resulted in the Heisenbergs moving up one spot to 5th while the Monarchs dropped down to 9th.

The #8 Deadwood Dust Devils shutout the #12 Texas Butcherz 29-0 which moved the Dust Devils up two spots to 6th while the Butcherz stayed at 12th.

The #13 Oak Island Treasure upset the #9 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders 24-10 which jumped the Treasure up a tier into the Quick at 9th while the Crusaders dropped down to 10th where they managed to remain Quick by the skin of their teeth.

The upset of the week went to the #21 Hawaii Black Sharks won a defensive battle with the #11 Tucson Outlaws. Both teams remained in the And bracket with the Black Sharks moving up to 17th while the Outlaws dropped down to 21st.

The Quick went 8-2 this week with loses to #7 and #13 resulting in the #10 Menominee Timberjacks to fall out of the Quick one spot down to 11th despite winning 26-10 against the 28th ranked San Antonio Rampage.

The And went only 4-8 this week with good wins versus #9 & #11 and expected wins versus #25 & #26.

The Dead went 4-6 this week thanks to 3 wins versus fellow Dead teams ranked #27, #31 & #32 plus the #24 Mayfield Bakers  knocked off the #19 Atlanta Autobots. The Bakers win ressurected them up to 22nd and dropped the #22 Green Bay Bullfrogs down into the Dead at 23rd despite the fact the Bullfrogs are still on life support for a playoff spot!

Perfection!?!? The #1 ranked Charleston Hammers are 1 win away from a perfect 16-0 regular season. They would become the 12th team in 20 seasons to finish the regular season undefeated. It would be the 4th time in francise history and 7 of the previous 11 teams went on to win the League Championship including the Hammers francise who went a perfect 19-0 in 2028.

The Quick went 8-2 this week including the #8 Oak Island Treasure who knocked off the #9 Kansas City Monarchs 17-9 and the #12 Texas Butcherz who upset the #2 Birmingham Thunderbolts 31-12. These two outcomes accounted for the only two teams to switch tiers as the Monarchs dropped down to 11th while the Butcherz jumped up to 8th.

The And went a respectful 7-5 this week including the upset mentioned above which helped an And team to become Quick.

The Dead showed no signs of life going 1-9 with the only win coming in a game between two Dead teams. Speaking of Perfection, the Deadest of the Dead, North Florida Lizards are a game away from going 0-16!

Teams ranked 17th-32nd have all been eliminated including the Outlaws, Corsairs, Bullfrogs and Autobots who were eliminated in week 15. The top seven ranked teams have clinched a playoff spot with teams ranked 8th-16th, excluding #15 all alive and battling for the last 5 playoff spots

PERFECTION!!!!!!

The Charleston Hammers completed a perfect 16-0 regular season with a convincing shutout win versus the #31 Philadelphia Cheesesteaks 44-0. The Hammers are the clear cut favorites to win the League Championship, finishing first in total offense and total defense. They ended up scoring a league high 647 points which was 139 more than the second place Quicksilver while allowing just 138 points which also led the league. The point differential of 506 ranks 5th Alltime in league history.

Week 16 featured 4 key games including 3 upsets that helped shape the final playoff picture. First, we had the #3 Hollywood Stars beating the #9 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders 34-23 which secured the Stars the 2nd seed in the National Conference and cost the Crusaders the division crown. The Crusaders still backed into a playoff spot thanks to the #18 Hawaii Black Sharks who upset the #8 Texas Butcherz 11-3 which eliminated the Butcherz from the playoffs.

The #25 New Orleans Voodoo put some bad juju on the #13 Chicago Billy Goats beating them 12-7 which cost the Billy Goats not only the division title but any playoff spot. The Voodoo had spent all season buried with the Dead but this win helped to resurrect them into the And in the final rankings!

The #17 Tampa Bay Corsairs played spoiler by knocking off the #10 Oak Island Treasure 13-7 and knocking them out of the playoffs and the Quick tier.

The Quick went 7-3 in week 16 with #8, #9 and #10 all losing which cost #8 and #10 not only a final Quick ranking but also a playoff spot. The #9 Crusaders held on to a final Quick ranking and backed into the playoffs.

The And went 6-6 including the #11, #12 ,#14, #16 winning which helped all four to advance to the playoffs plus both the #11 Monarchs and #12 Timberjacks finished in the Quick tier.

The Dead went 3-7 including 2 wins in head to head Dead clashes plus the #25 Voodoo played spoiler by upsetting the #13 Billy Goats and getting resurrected in the final rankings up to 21st.

The #32 North Florida Lizards secured their place as "Deadest of the Dead" with a lose to complete another 0-16 season. The team has lost 32 straight games (League Record) and becomes the 6th team to go winless.

Quick and the dead rankings (2038 Week 1)

Week 1 is in the books and 12 teams switched tiers in the usually active movement of the first few games of the season.

Week 1 had 2 Quick teams matchup when the #8 Monarchs upset the #2 Timbers but in a strange twist, both fell out of the Quick ranks due to poor total offensive and defensive numbers.

Week 1 also featured 3 big upsets where the #16 Treasure upset the 4th ranked Thunderbolts which resulted on the Treasure rising into the Quick at 4th while the Thunderbolts dropped out of the Quick down to 19th. The 28th ranked Mellotrons upset the 13th ranked Black Sharks which ended in the 2 swapping places as the Mellotrons were resurrected up to 14th while the Black Sharks died and dropped to 25th.

The third upset featured the 24th ranked Far East who were resurrected up to 12th when they upset the 11th ranked Corsairs who died and ended up ranked 24th.

The Quick went 8-2 this week but still lost 3 teams out of their ranks.

The And went 6-6 meaning 3 teams moved up to the Quick while 3 died and became Dead.

The Dead went a paltry 2-8 but still had 3 teams rise from the dead and become And including the Storm who lost but did enough to improve from 23rd to 18th.

The Dust Devils claim the top spot while the Cheesesteaks became the "Deadest of the Dead"!

Quick and the dead rankings (2038 Week 2)

The 2nd week featured a ton of teams moving between tiers. 4 teams became Quick, 4 became Dead leaving 8 teams which became And.

The Quick went a horrific 5-5 but that was mainly because 4 games featured 2 Quick teams facing off. The #5 Stars beat the #3 Hammers 24-19 which moved the Stars up to 4th while dropping the defending Champs down to 9th.

The #6 Quicksilver destroyed the #10 Firebirds 51-3 which moved the Quicksilver up to 3rd while the Firebirds plummeted out of the Quick, down to 16th.

The #1 Dust Devils took care of the #9 Timberjacks 40-3 which kept the Dust Devils at #1 but dropped the Timberjacks all the way down to 18th.

The #4 Treasure beat the #8 Foghorn Leghorns 23-16 which moved the Treasure up to 2nd while the Foghorn Leghorns dropped down to 14th.

Week 2 had 3 major upsets including the #15 Timbers who upset the #2 Heisenbergs 12-6 which resulted in the Timbers moving up to 6th while the Heisenbergs dropped down to 15th.

The #25 Black Sharks upset the #13 Voodoo 20-6 which resurrected the Black Sharks up to 11th and dropped the Voodoo down to 20th.

The #31 Rampage blew out the #20 Butcherz 34-10 which led the Rampage to rise from the Dead and move up to 12th while the Butcherz died and fell to 30th.

Week 2 also featured this seasons 1st tie between the #23 Mallards and the #19 Thunderbolts but the Mallards moved up from the Dead into the AND at 22nd while the Thunderbolts died and dropped to 23rd.

The Dead won went 5-5 this week and 4 of those 5 were resurrected from the Dead into the And tier. The 28th ranked Muskies lost to the 17th ranked Bull Frogs 31-16 and became the new "Deadest of the Dead"

With 3 games in the book, the rankings remain in Flux due to early outcomes plus the switch to a new version. 14 teams changed tiers despite some expected results.

The Quick went 8-2 this week with both loses coming from head to head matches among 2 Quick teams. The #3 Great Falls Quicksilver beat the #7 Bratislava Mellotrons 17-3 which moved the Quicksilver up to 2nd while the Mellotrons dropped out of the Quick to 13th. The #6 Duluth Timbers beat the #5 Tokyo Far East 22-10 which moved the Timbers up to 4th while moving the Far East out of the Quick and down to 14th.

The And teams went 5-7 including 4 loses to Quick teams, 2 loses to fellow And teams and 1 lose to a Dead team. The #28 Philadelphia Cheesesteaks upset the #19 Green Bay Bullfrogs 26-7 which resulted in the 2 teams swapping tiers as the Cheesesteaks were resurrected up to 19th while the Bullfrogs were dissected down to 28th.

The Dead went just 3-7 with 2 of those wins versus fellow Dead teams and the 1 upset described above.
