Quick and the dead rankings (2047 Week 5)

We are just 5 weeks into the season but the rankings have settled down a ton as only 4 teams switch tiers but we do have a new #1 team as the Fightin Amish fell to the Heisenbergs.

The Heisenbergs move up to #3 while the Fightin Amish fall to #7. The Mellotrons moved into the #1 spot as they remain undefeated along with the #2 Hammers, #3 Heisenbergs & #5 Virgins.

At the bottom of the rankings, we have a new team who earned the Title of "The Deadest of the Dead as the Aurora Borlealis claim the #32 ranking. They join the #30 Muskies & #27 Blizzard as the only winless teams.

Quick and the dead rankings (2047 Week 6)

Six weeks into season 30 and we are down to 3 undefeated teams, 1 in the American Conference (Virgins) & 2 in the National Conference (Hammers/Mellotrons). There are only 2 winless teams, 1 in each Conference (Borlealis/Muskies).

We have 8 teams sitting at 3-3 this season & 16 teams are between 2-4 & 4-2.

There were 2 major upsets this week where teams ranked 14 & 15 spots worse then their opponents won including a DEAD team (#23 Chips) upsetting a QUICK team (#8 Regulators). In that game the Regulators had a 33-20 lead with 6:56 left on the clock when the Chips erupted for 14 unanswered points in 5 seconds!

The Chips drove the ball 12 plays/75 yards scoring a TD with 2:15 left in the game making the score 33-27. After an onside kick failed, the Regulators took over from their own 48 yard line with 2:12 on the clock and they threw an interception on their first play from Scrimmage. The Chips would have the ball on the Regulators 47 yard line with 2:10 on the clock and hit a 47 yard TD pass on thier first play from Scrimmage to take the lead 34-33! Wild & wacky stuff!

The Upset lose dropped the Regulators out of the QUICK, down to #13 while the Chips rose from the DEAD and rose to #14 in the rankings.

The Hammers moved into the #1 spot over the Mellotrons by 10 ranking points while the 3rd undefeated team, the Virgins remain at #5, 4 & 7 points behind #4 Mallards & #3 Fightin Amish.

We have reached the midpoint of the season and with the Hammers beating the Virgins & the Monarchs beating the Mellotrons, we are down to just 1 undefeated team, the #1 Hammers!

The Black Sharks claim the title of "The Deadest of the Dead" after losing to the #28 Borlealis for the first time since week 15 of last season.

I've also added every teams preseason ranking entering the season and the biggest climber is the #7 Virgins who just lost their first game in week 8 and entered the season ranked #22 for a 15 spot climb into the Quick tier!

The biggest fall belongs to the #27 Rampage who entered the season ranked #5 and have fallen 22 spots to go from the Quick to the Dead.

Honorable mention to the #9 Rancors who entered the season ranked #20 and have climbed 11 spots into the Quick tier.

The #3 Quicksilver, #12 Stars & #17 Airborne are the same ranking now as they were in the preseason rankings.

All 10 Quick teams won in week 9 but the #15 Timbers still moved into the Quick due to their big win vs the #11 Hesienbergs. The Timbers moved up to #9 while the Heisenbergs dropped to 15th.

To make room for the Timbers, the Far East dropped down to #11 despite a win over the #22 Chips. At the top of the rankings, we have the Hammers & Mellotrons tied with 141 ranking points but the Hammers retain the #1 ranking since they are the only undefeated team.

Since week 7, the top 8 teams have remained the same in various order while #9 & #10 have flip-flopped weekly between 7 different teams (Far East ×3/Rancors ×2/Regulators/Fighting DeLucias/Timbers/Foghorn Leghorns/Ravens).

For the first time since week 4, the St. Lawrence Muskies have reclaimed the title of "The Deadest of the Dead". No team has held this Title more then the Muskies who have finished 6 seasons ranked #32. They are currently on a 41 straight week streak being DEAD which dates back to week 2 of the 2045 season where they were ranked 20th.

Speaking of streaks, the Kansas City Monarchs have been in the Quick tier for 102 consecutive weeks. That dates back to week 5 of the 2041 season where the Monarchs fell from #3 to #11 in the rankings after losing to the Virgins 27-6 and falling to 3-2 for the season. During this stretch they have gone 95-7, won 5 Conference Championships & 4 League Championships. To put the streak in perspective, the Great Falls Quicksilver have the second longest active streak at 69 games which dates back to week 6 of the 2043 season, a little over 2 seasons (33 games) from the Monarchs current streak. The Quicksilver have gone 62-7 during their streak with 2 Conference Championships & 1 League Title.

We have reached the ¾ mark



We had 3 games between top 11 ranked teams this week while the #1 Hammers played the #32 Muskies in the second of two annual destructions.

The Hammers combined to beat the Muskies 175-0 this season after combining to beat them 129-3 last season, 127-0 in 2045, 110-3 in 2044 &
115-3 in 2043. In total, the Hammers have defeated the Muskies 28 straight games dating back to 2033 where the Muskies actually swept the Hammers!

Despite winning, the Hammers dropped from the top spot down to #2 because beating the 32nd ranked team carries no weight in ranking points and with the #2 Mellotrons beating the #4 Quicksilver, it was enough to grab the #1 ranking by 3 ranking points.
