Quick and the dead rankings (2052 Week 8)

We have reached the midpoint of the season so let's flashback to last year's week 8 rankings and compare that to the current rankings.

7 of the 10 QUICK teams from last year are currently ranked QUICK led by the Rattlesnakes who were #1 at this point last season. Only the Fightin Amish, Cut Throat's & Heisenbergs are new to the QUICK tier compared to last year's rankings. The #16 Foghorn Leghorns, #14 Ravens & #24 Mellotrons are the 3 teams that were in the QUICK tier last year but have dropped out of the top 10 this season.

Only 5 of the 10 DEAD teams were also DEAD at the same point last season which includes the Black Sharks, Stars, Storm, Corsairs and Ukraine United and like the #1 Rattlesnakes who were in the same place in both rankings, the #32 Black Sharks are "The Deadest of the Dead" now & then.

Quick and the dead rankings (2052 Week 10)

The #4 Fightin Amish held on to beat the #10 Quicksilver 14-13 after a 59 yard fieldgoal came up just short as time expired and it was enough for the Fightin Amish to leapfrog the Rattlesnakes for the #1 ranking snapping a 4 week run at #1 for the Rattlesnakes.

In fact, the Rattlesnakes have held the #1 spot every week since week 3 except week 5 where the Fightin Amish had the top spot for 1 week.

SHOWDOWN SUNDAY




Four games in week 12 featured two teams in the top 12 of the rankings in showdowns for QUICK spots.

The #1 Rattlesnakes won in week 12 but they played the #31 Stars while the #2 Fightin Amish, #3 Muskies and #4 Red Raiders all beat tougher opponents to move ahead of the Rattlesnakes who dropped to #4 in the rankings while the Fightin Amish moved into the #1 spot.



ZOMBIE SHARKS



The 32nd ranked Black Sharks have held the Title of "The Deadest of the Dead" for 5 of the first 11 weeks this season but they won their first game of the season versus the #29 Fighting DeLucias which moved them up to 31st, 1 ranking point ahead of the Fighting DeLucias!!!

DYNASTY???



The Rattlesnakes finished #1 in the final rankings for the 3rd straight season going a combined 46-2 plus they are the defending league Champs. Is this the beginning of a new dynasty or will the Rattlesnakes become a 1 hit wonder? The Rattlesnakes are just the 6th team to finish #1 in a final rankings in 27 seasons and all 6 teams now have at least 3 #1 finishes.

The Black Sharks have earned the Title of "The Deadest of the Dead" for the first time in francise history in a final season rankings becoming the 15th team to do so in 27 seasons.

HUMAN VERSUS MACHINE



14 of the top 15 ranked teams are owned by a human owners including the top 12 so all 10 QUICK teams are human owned with the highest ranked A.I. team being ranked 13th in the London Ravens who finished 8-7-1. The Ravens finished the season winning 3 straight games versus human owned teams but they missed the postseason.

The #16 Rancors finished just 7-9 but they find themselves as the only A.I. team in the postseason because only 5 teams in the American Conference finished with a winning record.
