DIVISIONAL ROUND

We are down to 8 teams and those 8 teams have won 16 of the leagues 20 League Championships. We have 7 American Conference Champions and 19 National Conference Champions still alive.

AMERICAN CONFERENCE

#12 Birmingham Thunderbolts
@
#2 Kansas City Monarchs (-6)

This is a rematch from week 15 where the Thunderbolts traveled to Kansas City and handed the Monarchs just their 2nd lose of the season 22-3. The Monarchs had already locked up the #1 seed and had nothing to play for so can Birmingham repeat their success when the game truly matters?

The Thunderbolts are making their 11th straight playoffs following the first 10 seasons where they missed the playoffs. They are 13-6 Alltime in the playoffs including 8-1 at home but 1-5 on the road. The other 4 wins came at a neutral site as they have won 4 League Championships (2029,2030,2032,2034).

The Monarchs are making their 3rd straight playoffs and 9th overall in 21 seasons. They are 8-8 Alltime in the playoffs including 7-3 at home and 1-3 on the road plus 0-2 at neutral sites. They won the 2026 & 2037 Conference Championships but lost both times in the League Championships.

#11 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders (-7)
@
#9 Mayfield Bakers

This will be the 1st matchup between these two teams thus season and first playoff matchup too.

The Crusaders are making their 2nd straight playoffs and 8th overall. They are 5-7 Alltime in the playoffs including 2-2 at home and 3-5 on the road.

The Bakers are making their 11th playoff appearance including 7 out of the last 8 seasons. They are 11-10 Alltime in the playoffs including 5-2 at home and 6-7 on the road plus 0-1 on a neutral site when they won the 2035 Conference Championship but lost to the Deadwood Dust Devils in the Title game 23-10.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

#1 Bratislava Mellotrons
@
#4 Great Falls Quicksilver (-10)

This is a rematch from week 3 where the Mellotrons traveled to Great Falls and lost to the Quicksilver 17-3.

The Mellotrons are making their 9th playoff appearance but their 1st in the last 7 seasons. They are 5-8 Alltime in the postseason including 5-4 at home and 0-4 on the road.

The Quicksilver are making their 21st straight playoff appearance. They are an amazing 48-10 Alltime in the playoffs including a perfect 34-0 at home and only 4-3 on the road. They are 10-7 on a neutral field having won 10 League Championships and 7 Conference Championships. They have been a dynasty for 21 seasons, playing in every League Title game except in years 2028,2035 & 2037. They have NEVER lost at home in the postseason but they haven't won the Conference Championship in 2 of the last 3 years so is the dynasty ending?

These two teams have met 3 times in the postseason with all 3 games played at Great Falls where the Quicksilver have never lost (scores below).

2021 @GFQ 34-16
2025 @GFQ 55-6
2031 @GFQ 29-10

#6 Chicken Wing Foghorn Leghorns
@
#3 Charleston Hammers (-9)

This is a rematch from week 7 where the Hammers traveled to Chicken Wing and beat the Foghorn Leghorns 17-12.

The Foghorn Leghorns are making their 3rd straight playoffs and 11th overall in 21 seasons. They are just 2-10 Alltime in the playoffs including 2-6 at home and 0-4 on the road.

The Hammers are making their 6th straight playoff appearance and 14th overall. They are 17-11 Alltime in the playoffs including 11-4 at home and 4-7 on the road. They have won 2 League Championships (2028/2037) and are looking to repeat as Champions.

The two teams have met once in the postseason where the Hammers traveled to Chicken Wing and beat the Foghorn Leghorns 28-14 back in 2026.

DIVISIONAL ROUND

We had 2 home teams and 2 road teams win including 3 blowouts where the combined score was 83-3 and the 4th game was a 6 point game with 4:14 remaining until 3 late fieldgoals put the game away by 15.

AMERICAN CONFERENCE

#12 Birmingham Thunderbolts 0
@
#2 Kansas City Monarchs 17

The Monarchs left no doubt in the rematch that they were the better team shutting out the Thunderbolts and scoring 2 1st quarter touchdowns to seal the win.

#11 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders 29
@
#9 Mayfield Bakers 3

The Crusaders nearly had the 3rd shutout of the week allowing just the Bakers 3 points while they scored every quarter to win easily.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

#1 Bratislava Mellotrons 43
@
#4 Great Falls Quicksilver 28

The Mellotrons won the rematch earning them their 1st road victory in the postseason while snapping a 34 game home winning streak by the Quicksilver in the playoffs. This was the Quicksilvers once lost at home in the postseason and the once dominate team will miss the Title game for the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons. In 21 straight postseasons, this is the Quicksilvers 1st one and done appearance. It speaks to the level of competition in the National Conference that the Quicksilver no longer are the favorite to win the Conference Title.

#6 Chicken Wing Foghorn Leghorns 0
@
#3 Charleston Hammers 37

The Foghorn Leghorns remain winless on the road in the postseason as the defending Champs shut them out in the most dominate win of the week.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

AMERICAN CONFERENCE

#11 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders
@
#2 Kansas City Monarchs (-6)

The Crusaders and Monarchs met last season in the postseason where the Monarchs won 31-17 at home on their March to a Conference Championship and lose in the Title game. The Monarchs have won 2 Conference Championships while the Crusaders are looking for their 1st. The Crusaders are the outlier as the other 3 remaining teams finished ranked #1, #2 & #3 while they finished 11th.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

#1 Bratislava Mellotrons
@
#3 Charleston Hammers (-10)

This is new territory for the Mellotrons who finally got past the Quicksilver and are looking for their 1st Conference Championship while the Hammers are the defending Champs and looking to make their 3rd Title game.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

AMERICAN CONFERENCE

#11 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders 27
@
#2 Kansas City Monarchs 24 (OT)

The Crusaders have gone on the road for three straight weeks and beat the odds to win their 1st Conference Championship and make their 1st appearance in the League Championship game.

The Monarchs seemed poised for their 2nd straight Conferense Championship and 3rd overall as they just had to beat their division rival for the 3rd time this season after beating them the last 5 times they played including a 2037 playoff game.

The Monarchs went into halftime with a 17-10 lead and led by a score of 24-10 with 10:15 left in the 3rd quarter. The Crusaders would score 17 unanswered points including the game winning fieldgoal in overtime.

The Monarchs had a chance to win in overtime but K Gary Verrill missed a 38 yard fieldgoal giving the Crusaders live. Verrill went 32/33 this season plus was 2/2 thus postseason. This was just the 2nd missed fieldgoal this season and his 1st miss ever in the postseason as he was 9/9 Alltime before this fateful miss.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

#1 Bratislava Mellotrons 6
@
#3 Charleston Hammers 17

The Hammers played a nearly flawless game with no turnovers or sacks allowed while committing just 3 penalties for 26 yards. They won their 2nd straight Conference Championship and 3rd overall.

The #1 ranked Mellotrons struggled to score all game and settled for just 2 fieldgoals before reaching the redzone twice in the 4th quarter and coming away without a point on both drives. The 1st a turnover on downs on a 4th and goal from the 3 where if they had settled for a fieldgoal, they would have been down by 8 with 4 minutes remaining.
