Quick and the dead rankings (2037 Week 12)
This week featured 3 games with top 11 teams playing each other and in each case, the team ranked lower won. The #4 Blue Rock Heisenbergs beat the #2 Birmingham Thunderbolts 27-20 moving the Heisenbergs up to 2nd while dropping the Thunderbolts down to 5th.
The #8 Kansas City Monarchs beat the #6 Chesapeake Bay Crusaders 24-15 moving the Monarchs up to 7th while dropping the Crusaders down to 10th.
The #11 Great Falls Quicksilver handled the #9 Chicken Wing Foghorn Leghorns 36-13 and became Quick again at 8th while the Foghorn Leghorns dropped out of the Quick to 13th.
The upset of the week went to the #30 Omaha Storm who destroyed the #15 San Antonio Rampage 29-6. The Storm stormed up to #19 whole the Rampage dropped to 27th. After the game, the owner of the San Antonio Rampage, Steven "Shock" Collar was forcibly removed as owner of the francise by the Commissioner on charges of tampering. The team started TE Chad Mullen at quarterback for 3 straight games despite having 8 year starter QB Joseph Matthews healthy and available. Mullen went a ridiculous 1/71 passing for 17 yards and 9 INTs in those 3 games and the league had issued warnings to owner Shock Collar leading into this week's games to cease and desist this current situation and start one of the 2 QBs on the roster. After the game, the announcement was made that the Rampage were under temporary league ownership pending new ownership approval. Steven "Shock" Collar hasn't been available for comment and hasn't responded to the league, Commissioner or reporters. Head Coach Francis Connolly stated he was given a directive by ownership to play TE Mullen at quarterback or be removed and was opposed to the move.
The Quick went 7-3 this week with all 3 loses coming to #4, #8 and #11 as described above.
The And bounced back this week to go 7-5 including 1 win versus a quick team, 2 wins versus fellow And teams and hacking on the corpses of 4 Dead teams.
The Dead were mostly silent this week going 2-8 with 1 win versus a fellow Dead team and the other win to an And team.
The North Florida Lizards remain winless and "The Deadest of the Dead" with a 28-9 whipping at the hands of the 20th ranked Timberjacks. The Lizards have held that title for 10 of the 12 weeks this season.
