Some leagues protect hard as f***, though. I'll use Admiral and Legends as a safe example.

He'll pick up AI teams - get everyone re-signed and clean it up. Generally, though, without the hard ball guarding you can get those 5 year experience gems and ball out.

I hope everyone had a good draft but only after training camp will anyone know for sure....the preseason is fast approaching and their is a renewed energy in the league as we had a big influx of new owners and we are down to 5 openings.

Just checked the schedule and I get CJ and Wolveraider in the first couple of weeks. Good test to see how good the Hammers are this year, and to have an idea of how the division will stack out.

Yeah, I get the Hammers and the Champs in week 2 and 3. Should be fun but this team isn't anything like the team in GM FOOTBALL LEAGUE II.

A bitter, bitter disappointment. You can be sure I'll keep trying, though. The need is so bad that he will still play for me.

2.5 WR John Johnson Vol: 20 +19/+3 Now 57/82

High-flying it is, then. I may lose but at least I'll be able to score.

4.9 RT Jeff Silvia Vol: 32 +5/-2 Now 38/68

Serves me right for trying to play it safe.

4.20 WR Samuel Stanfill +7/-3 Now 35/66

This is why I can't have nice things. The WR room is such a mess that he'll probably make the club. His long-term prospects are extremely dim, though.

5.5 P Archie Powers Vol: 22 +9/+1 Now 62/90

Mission accomplished. Replacing the kicker will be much harder, though.

5.9 RDE Jose Godbolt Vol: 54 +8/+4 Now 47/72

I kinda stole this guy. Definitely wasn't expecting to do this well so late in the draft.

6.5 LG Joshua Freeman Vol: 36 +3/+1 Now 38/74

A depth piece who is very likely to make the club.

6.9 RB Ray Webber Vol: 64 +3/-3 Now 34/57

No miracles here. I still need to get much younger at RB.

7.8 SS Rusty Harris Vol: 100 +0/-26 Now 26/33

He did a good job of getting flamboyantly cut, if that was his goal.

What I am doing is not foolproof, but it is still a big improvement over the automatic busts I have been having. I guess I'll continue.

Very impressed with this batch. Our secondary got a huge boost with 2 CB's, 2 boomer. WLB has good cover skills. Pass catching FB. Solid WR though a tad slow
