Beating a blitz - real life vs MFN

I wondered if anyone had any MFN applicable tips for successful plays against the blitz? IRL, I could tell my QB to throw where the blitz is coming from, scramble, look for the dump off etc.....but in the sim I just have to **** it and see.

If you know a blitz is coming, or you're going to play a blitz heavy team, does anyone have any tips?

One of my teams had a ridiculously slow qb who was sacked 12 times game 1 with a average or so oline. I changed my plays so that I had more short passes and runs and my passes were out of shotgun. I also had plays where I would have a Rb in pass protection. Sack totals went down but my qb wasn't too good. Put in the faster backup and only got sacked 1--2 times a game and he played very well. This isn't like the greatest answer cuz I've been playing only for a couple months but it's how I did it

The key to beating the blitz is getting better players plain and simple. Faster QB's and good wr's will beat man coverage on the outside. Mobile QB's and good pass blocking OL will help as well but you will still take sacks. Make the team pay for blitzing by destroying their corners. Roll out passes, shotgun etc. will also help. using more formations that keep extra blockers in. There's a lot of ways to beat the blitz but i've found that roster construction is the top answer to beating teams that get lots of pressure.

My strategy, like Bryson's, boils down to this:

1) Fast QB - Don't play a QB with <50 SP or a combination of 40-50 SP and <80 scramble.
2) Good pass blocking OL - >90 at all positions is ideal
3) Fast, good pass blocking OTs - >90 pass blocking and >80 speed
4) Extra blocker on all plays - leave the FB in to block and get a FB with good pass block and SP
5) Six OL - There are plenty of passing players where the TE stays in to block. Sub in your TE for those sets.
6) Limit your medium and long passes. - Short passes to good WRs are better than medium passes.
Bonus) Pass >80% of the time.

If its a 2 TE set and in one play the right TE blocks and the other play the left TE blocks, is there a way to set the overrides by play or is it just by formation only?

Yes - I only use set level overrides for extra OL.

oh so i would have to have plays where only the right TE blocked so that it would be easier to override instead of switching them around?

Right. Most common sets to use for this are 014 and 113.

I won my game, so thanks for the various input. It was a mess, but we got the job done :)
