Square Peg - Round Hole. Offensive Gameplan

New owner, first season, so still getting to grips with things (just as context).

When I took over my team, a few things I noted about my offensive roster.

1) I have 3 very good tight ends - (95, 87 and 83 overall). Potentially these players could be very difficult to match up with if they are all out on the field.
2) I have a RB this doesn't look to be a great rusher, but could be effective as a scat back.

After 5 games, I'm really struggling to implement a gameplan that utilises either of the above.

1) My tight ends have the following stat lines:
10 rec, 156 yds, 3 tds, (1 rec was an 80 yard TD, so it's a 9-76-2 split without that 1 play)
7 rec, 46 yds,
5 rec, 44.

2) My backs are a combined 4 rec, 29 yds. My scat back has 3 rec, 18yds.

My game plan is generally pass oriented, 178 attempts to date, so 35 a game. Any way I can get these players more involved? I have a clear idea of what I want my team to do, but I'm really struggling to get them to play that way.

Any suggestions?

i'm also a new manager but one possibility that pops in my head is go through your plays and check out all your plays that involve multiple tight-ends and make sure they are in your playbook for the game. I know there are several just don't know how many

and also on the offensive gameplan portion under personell make sure that the necessary formations for those plays are set up to be called more often so that the multi-TE plays have a better chance of being called

Good shout. I did this though. I use the 2TE formations a lot (more so than other formations), but not the 3TE set as that only has run plays in it. I then marry my game plan up so that the right plays are being called.

Looking at snap counts, they are as follows:

TE1: 363 plays (72 per game)
TE2: 269 plays (54 per game)
TE3: 257 plays (51 per game)

Granted all 3 play a part on special teams, but it's not like they aren't getting on the field on offence.

You could also put your TEs at WR positions via the depth chart overrides for certain formations / situations.

In general, it's just a **** shoot about who will be targeted, etc.

I've tried putting the TE on the depth chart at WR, but it generally results in a pretty big hit to their overall. Or is that irrelevant?

I'm not sure. However, I was referring to the actual overrides where you can play them at WR in only certain situations/formations.

It depends on what attributes are driving him down. You can look at your personal weight settings and/or at the attributes of the player to see, i.e. he might be a better blocker which is important as a TE and not as a WR, so that might be raising his TE score.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe you (JDB) also said that weight factors into the overall rating, even though it doesn't appear on the custom player weights settings.

Is this correct?

Also, is there anything else that determines the overall rating that is not customizable in player weights?

Weight and position experience. (Position experience does not effect the future value)

Does weight only count against you if the player is too heavy? I see far too many RBs and WRs that are counted as the best OL in a league.

These guys are currently the 5th and 6th best RG in our FA pool (my weights):
