can we get rid of the off day? the "sunday" doesnt even line up here, the day off is Saturday

I get your point, but some of us like the steady routine of 3 games a week. If the off day didn’t happen, the game spin on Monday this week would be Sunday the next week and a 4th game would go down Saturday. That can make a difference if you have a busy schedule week to week. I think a bigger problem is the lack of an off day before the first spin of a new season, where renewing coach contracts and pursuing top free agents need to happen simultaneously without any advance prep to deal with the retirements and non renewals of the previous season.
