Resting Starters

Last game of the season coming up and I clinched a bye so not much to play for. is it recommended to rest key starters? this is to avoid injury and let some lingering health issues heal. my concern is that since i have a bye i will have 2 weeks off for these starters and then their conditioning will drop. What do u all recommend? Thanks!

I'm sitting 14 starters, this week. A couple are banged up (questionable and probable) but I'll take my chances with them fully recovered vs losing a bit if any conditioning. Not to mention an injury in week 16 seems to be the luck I have. That's my opinion.

Just throwing this out here....
If you rest starters will this affect the 'opinion of you', and when they return will their performance be affected?

I have no idea about this honestly

Fairly certain one game will not affect the players opinion of you. Also that doesn't affect their performance, it's for resigning. Plus, if they develop a bad opinion, it would only take a start the following week to have it neutral or better.

If their opinion is solid because they are already a starter, it will take more than a couple of games for them to lower their opinion. (It will lower it, but not enough to move them out of renegotiation range, and will quickly recover in the playoffs/first games of the next season).

Their conditioning could go down, but not enough to be concerned about it if it's just the last game of the season.

Does having a bye week have a negative impact on conditioning?

Yes, a very small one ... let's say you have so sit a player for an extended time before his conditioning becomes an issue. Look at players who you rest because of injury, that gives you a good idea of how much a bye week will impact their conditioning.
