Re: Coach Type Database

Was wondering of there was some kind of list that tells you every formation, head coach type, that coach uses before you hire him? I can't remember even when I used to have that type of coach. For example:

I used to have two head coaches that were generally balanced, but I dont now. Thinking about switching back to balanced, or try another....but no matter which coach I pick, I dont get to know the formations/plays they run until after hiring them.

Is there some kind of list somewhere that would give me this knowledge beforehand?

In Coach Search you can filter your desired playbook. On the other hand you may open each coach's individual card and find his playbooks.

Pretty sure he means knowing which plays are in each playbook so he can choose the correct coaching candidate to get what he wants. I thought there was a link for that in the community help forum, but I don’t see it. Also surprised nobody else posted the links before I could get to this reply, because I’m no good at cross referencing hyperlinks, but CJfred has database documents posted in the XFL league help forum that show exactly this. If a more computer savvy user could link it directly it should help you out, or I guess you could physically look at it yourself and maybe save a copy.

MFN absolutely needs to include a list of plays available within each (by) coaching style (offence and defense).
7 years in and its just a mystery - mostly.
I'd like to include improving the search option in forums, as this information has been shared at least once before in detail.
Not knowing what plays my potential head coach has in their playbook until that coach is signed sucks basketballs.
...especially in light of how few of the available plays actually work, are broken, yadda yadda blah blah blah.

Easier to make a coaches' playbook available prior to signing than fixing the plays themselves.
Lets admit it's about finding coaches with playbooks that maximize available plays that work and minimize plays that are, well, increasingly fecal.

The plays are listed on these spreadsheets for you, granted it took somebody else compiling it to share…

On that note, most will agree that the most commonly successful plays are not all available in all the playbooks. If there was one end all be all, everybody would just use that style, but instead you have choose if you prefer having the shotgun flare or I form twins or certain 203 formations…you can get 1 or 2 of those 3, but never all 3…

my point is, i should not have to hunt spreadsheets.
There should be an option for all coaches that shows what plays they have in their playbook.

I know the info is out there, but the info should be included within the MFN website, and not because some kind hearted soul did a whole lot of homework.

Thanks for the links - now all I gotta do is cross-reference it by plays available by coach by plays that work by what receiver is the actual #1 target ( seth did that homework)...

Forum search sux, plays available info should be readily available, and as much as I am grateful for the users who did the work - this is work no user should have to do and no user should have to hunt out.

Have I mentioned that forum search absolutely stinks?
I did.

All good points, but the info should be at hand for the user and not upon hunting.
Thanks for all you do.

To repeat: Forum search sux, plays available should be up front, on hand, and require zero user work.
We should know this without having the grace from folks throwing some saved link from their bookmarks.

Thanks for the links, truly appreciative.
Coach playbooks should not require such things.

As always, your degradation of my character and intellect is unnecessary.
The dismissal of new ideas in favor of old habits is exactly why MFN does not move forward.

My apologies for being so cross about it.
I try not to get rolling for that very reason.
Thanks for all you do in our community lb.
